Job Description

We're a small and diverse company building revolutionary AgTech software that provides farms the means to stay compliant with labor laws and farm workers security in knowing they are paid correctly. Were used by tens of thousands of farm workers each day (and growing!), and we are building the farm management system of tomorrow.
We are in the process of relocating our headquarters from the Bay Area to Glendale, CA, and we are looking to hire a talented, diligent Product Manager to help us as we continue to build our industry leading application and help us supercharge our growth.
As PickTraces first full time Product Manager, you are on the front lines of, working with our customers, understanding their needs, and working closely with the Engineering team to communicate and present customer problems and potential solutions. This position will meet regularly with Sales, Marketing, and Client Services to discuss upcoming releases and gather feedback on what can be improved in the product. This role reports to the CEO, who currently leads product at PickTrace.

The ideal candidate has an uncanny ability to listen and engage prospects/customers, embraces new technologies, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and loves to solve problems. We believe in the power of truly listening to customers, and youll be out front in making our customers and users feel valued.

 

In this role, youll be responsible for:
  • Owning the success of the product. All activities performed should drive towards this goal, and toward ensuring the absolute satisfaction of our customers and effectiveness of our product in helping them manage their operations.
  • Coordinate & lead customer interviews, both over the phone and in-person, to deepen personal and organizational understanding of our customers needs and desires. Furthermore, Work with sales, implementation, marketing, and support teams to identify ways to make our products better. This will mean occasionally traveling to visit PickTrace customers and prospects, and working with a wide range of constituents from CFOs to field managers to farm hands. Our customers are located across California, the Pacific Northwest, and the broader United States.
  • Collaborate with teammates to craft elegant solutions to customer and business problems, and then create and manage a backlog of these features & enhancements to achieve project goals as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Conduct agile methodology including planning, grooming, retrospectives, etc. Engage members of the engineering team and other stakeholders effectively, and help to keep the team organized, projects on task, and communication flowing effectively.

  • You love the nitty gritty aspects of managing product development. You are incredibly organized and can make lists for days. Theres no other option for you but extreme perfectionism and focus on the details. We sweat the small stuff here.
  • Youre an execution machine. When youre tasked with something, it is completed with the utmost thought and care. You feel a sense of accomplishment after seeing a project come to fruition and cant wait to take on the next task with the same level of energy.
Nice to have:
  • Spanish Speaking Skills. The vast majority of our end users are Spanish speaking, and strong Spanish language skills are helpful (but not required) for success in this role.
  • A Technical Degree. 4+ years of product management experience is a requirement for this role, and a degree in computer science or engineering is nice, but not necessary.
